How to use the library resources in planning, researching, writing, and finishing a course paper, thesis, dissertation, and similar projects.

This LibGuide contains general material about advanced research--click the tabs above for specific help. A more basic guide to using library resources is the Guide to Database and Catalog Searching. For help in specific subject areas, consult the LibGuides homepage list for a Guide to your subject or topic. For citation and documentation formats, use the Citation Guide

It is often helpful to look at other theses or dissertations written in your field. These may be found in the database "Dissertations and Theses A&I" or by searching in any database with the limiter "dissertation."  NSU theses and dissertations are held at Watson and are indexed in the library catalog; search your field, then limit the results by location to "NSU theses, dissertations, research projects."

Your professors are your best resources; librarians can also help.
