Writing a resume and get help with interviewing skills

Writing a resume can be a “reality test” and can help a student identify weak areas that require improvement. Suggest that your student get sample resumes from the career center.You can review resume drafts for grammar, spelling, and content, but recommend that the final product be critiqued by a career center professional. Contact us for help with your resume writing.

Functional Resume A functional resume focuses on your skills and experience, rather than on your chronological work history. It is typically used by job seekers who are changing careers, who have gaps in their employment history, or whose work history is not directly related to the job.
Combination Resume The combination resume is one of the three mainstream types of resume formats used today; the other formats being chronological and functional resumes. A combination resume is organized into two parts or pages. The first part of a combination resume is a functional format, which highlights skills and accomplishments.
