It;s important to request journal articles early in your research process. Nursing and Allied health journal articles generally require 2 - 3 business days after we request the article via DOCLINE. Articles published outside of the USA may take longer.
Adding the PMID number in your request shortens the processing time considerably. The PMID number is in PubMed under the abstract. Generally, the library covers the cost of acquiring the article. Fill out a journal article request form for each article and include a complete citation. Incomplete information delays your request.
Prior to requesting this at a cost to the library, please check the NSULA Journals Full Text Finder link to see if the article is available full-text from your terminal.
Full text articles in Proquest and those subscribed by NSULA may not always show up in the Journals Full Text Finder. If the article is not in Full Text Finder, CINAHL, Proquest or OVID, we may have a subscription to Science Direct.
Requests for books, theses, dissertations, videos, DVDs, and other items are submitted electronically through the ILLIAD System. You will asked to be set up an ILL account if you have not borrowed before. This allows you to check the status of requested materials electronically.
Ms Jacqueline Hawkins (Natchitoches) will notify you by email or phone when your materials arrive. Please mark the space on the request form accurately. Materials can be picked up at the Watson Library ILL office on the second floor, Room 201-B during normal working hours.
If you wish to renew an Interlibrary Loan book you may do so through your ILLiad account, or by contacting the ILL Office at (318) 357-5465 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30p.m., Monday through Thursday. One renewal may be allowed at the discretion of the lending library.
